Music from the week of 7/19 was a calm week but there were some notable drops. Artist that Dropped were G Herbo, Big Sean, Childish Gambino, Lil Yachty and more that will be addressed. To Start from best to worst, The best goes to Big Sean for his new single “Yes” where he raps like he has never done before. It was always said to never sleep on Big Sean. Even if he doesn't drop often like many other artist, he brought out his best self in this single in a way to promote his upcoming album “Better Me Than You” Which is confirmed to release on August 9th. Eyes and Ears are open for this drop as fans speculate he is on a get back for the shots thrown by “Ye” also known as Kanye West.
G Herbo and Skillababy drop a single called “shoot” which was not a bad song it was a little dark as far as the lyrics but overall the song was okay. Fans were quick to express how they felt about G herbo verse as he never fails to disappoint.
Lil yachty drops “Lets get on they A**” which was pretty nice. The beat definitely fits his style and Yachty was perfect on it. You can tell with his style that he is trying something new I could be wrong but theres a similar formula from when he dropped “Poland” he trying to make a trend out of. It honestly doesn't sound bad and make him stand out a bit more as an artist because we all know of what a great rapper he is but he is trying to switch up and he's proving that.
Childish Gambino drops his new album which he claims this is his last one “Bando Stone and The New World”. The album is very diverse with different styles and thats what Donald Glover is known for, He is unique in own way and has always proved that. As a DJ I feel the best song the album is “Talk My Sh*t” featuring Amaarae and Flo Milli. I believe this is the song that will generate alot of attention to his album because of how he starts it off and it just continues to be a must listen all the way through.
Benny The Butcher drops “Summer ‘24” which was tough! Since the release of his most recent album “Everbody can’t go” he hasnt really dropped but he is back at it and I would admit he is a must listen to artist. He is real!
